Tower Quest is a very unique slot machine produced by Play'n GO. It features a lot of different features and it's quite an advanced slot machine they must have put a lot of effort into making. One of the main features is the bonus game featuring a dice and card game almost identical to the super popular online game Hearthstone. It also has 2 different type of bonus ladders that are filled up by collecting red and blue portions during the base game play. Each of the ladders offer 3 kind of different free spin features that can be activated whenever the required number of portions are collected for each ladder. The maximal win per spin in the base game is 250x the stake, while the maximal win in the bonus game is 500x the stake. The maximal win for this game is found in one of the free spin options offered by the portions, and that's actually a win of 750x the stake! This is a slot machine that might require a bit of play before you understand all the different features and bonus games, but I think it's well worth it. Tower Quest's payout percentage is 96.24%.

Game features

Tower Quest has stacked wild symbols on all the 5 reels and a full screen of wilds pay 250x the total stake. It also features a numerous of wild features and combinations in each of the 6 different free spin modes that can be won and activated by collecting red and blue portions in the base game. This slot machine also features a very nice bonus game that is almost an identical copy of the popular dice and card game Hearthstone. That's a game where you fight against a wizard in a battle with health and attack power.

Bonus game: The bonus game is triggered by getting a purple wizard symbol on reel 1, 3 and 5. This will start a combined dice and card game that at first might seem a bit advanced for the recreational slot player. First of all you get to choose your warrior, and you can chose between a male or a female warrior. After the warrior is chosen, you move on to the playground where you meet the wizard. The wizard will start with 10 in health while you start with 6 in health. The next step is to throw 3 dices to see which playing cards you get to play with in the first round. There are 6 different playing cards shown at the bottom of the screen, and whatever number the dices land on, those numbers will be the picking order of the playing cards. For example, a 3 on the dice will reward you with the 3rd card from the left, if you get more 3's, you'll get more of that exact card to play with.

Each dice will give you one playing card, but if you roll 2 or 3 of a kind of the dices some special powers are added to you attack round. If you roll 2 of a kind on the dices, it will reduce the wizard’s health by -1. It will also reduce the health by -1 for each of the wizards playing cards. If you roll 3 of a kind on the dices, it will reduce the wizard’s total health and playing card health by -1 just like the 2 of a kind combination, but it will also double your own attack value. So if your card shows an attack value of 2 it will be upgraded to 4. The same rules apply to the wizard when he throws his dices, so the loss of health and upgrade of attack power can go both ways.

The bonus on Tower Quest is all about health and attack powers, in the left corner of each playing card your attack power is shown, and in the right corner the health is shown. You should hope for as high numbers as possible on both of them. When both you and the wizard have been dealt the playing cards the fight starts. Your cards from left to right will face the wizards cards from the same direction. The attack power on each of the cards will now remove the same amount of health on the other card. If your attack power and health beats the wizard’s, you'll take away one health from his total health and get rewarded with a cash prize. If you tie with the wizard both of you will lose one health, but you still get a cash prize for the attack. If the wizard beat you card, you'll lose one health.

As long as both you and the wizard have health left, the card games will continue with more rounds and new cards. The bonus game ends when you beat the wizard or when the wizard beats you. All the cash you have collected during the attacks will then be added to your account. If you beat the wizard an extra award of at least 100x the stake is awarded, but it's possible to get up to a total win of 500x the stake during the bonus round. This extra bonus is also reward if your warrior dies in the same game round as the wizard.

Free spins: Just like the bonus game, the free spins are also a bit advanced compared to those you find on normal slot machines. The first thing you have to take notice of is the blue and red ladders on the left and the right side. The blue ladder has 15 steps, while the red ladder has 30 steps. Each of the ladders are split into 3 different levels. The blue one for each fifth step at 5, 10 and 15, while the red one is split every tenth step by 10, 20 and 30. These ladders need to be filled up to trigger different kind of free spin features. The way you do that on Tower Quest is by collecting blue and red portions that appear on the reels during the base game. Each blue portion fills up one step in the blue ladder, while each red portion does the same for the red ladder. There are 3 free spin options that can be manually triggered by the player on each of the ladders. The blue one can be triggered after 5, 10 or 15 portions, while the red one can be triggered after 10, 20 or 30 portions. You will get different kind of free spin features depending on when you trigger the free spins.

Let's start with the blue portions: If you trigger it on the first option filled between step 5 and 9, it will reward you with 1 free spin where reel number 3 will have a stacked wild symbol stuck to the screen, and all winnings are multiplied by x2. The second option can be triggered between step 10 and 14, this option gives you 1 free spin where all the 5 premium symbols transfers into wild symbols for that spin. The last option for the blue portions is to collect all 15 steps, that will reward you with 1 free spin where reel number 1, 3 and 5 are filled with stacked wild symbols for the current spin.

Now it's time to take a look at the red portions: The first option where you can trigger the red portion free spins is between step 10 and 19. This will give you 5 free spins where all wins that includes a wild symbol are multiplied by x3. The second option is possible to trigger between step 20 and 29, and it rewards you with 5 free spins where the two human warrior symbols are transferred to wild symbols for all the 5 spins. The last option is to trigger the free spins after all 30 steps are collected. This will give you 5 free spins where one sticky wild will be added to the reels for each of the spins, these wilds will stick for the remaining spins.
