Birds on a Wire have always been my absolute
favorite Thunderkick slot, but in December 2015
Thunderkick made a drastic move to decrease the
payout percentage for this slot machine.
Lowering it from a decent 97.20% RTP to a more
common 96.00% RTP absolutely broke my heart and
love for Birds on a Wire (that's why I now have
Fruit Warp as my
personal Thunderkick favorite). I still play it from
time to time, and the game play is the same as
before, but I'm not even close to playing it as
much as I did before. The game has a unique game
play where birds come flying in on the power
line, instead of the normal reels that are
spinning. This makes it incredible exciting to
watch as you can see from the beginning how
symbols build up on the lines, and since the
game also removes winning symbols after they
have rewarded you and replaces them with new
symbols, the excitement of watching out for
potential matching symbols to what you already
have is huge.

As I have mentioned earlier, there's no normal
reels on Birds on a Wire. Instead there's a
power line with positions that the incoming
birds can land on. Since there's no fixed reels,
it's possible to get the same symbol on all of
the positions at the same time. After a wins is
awarded, the winning symbols fly's away and the
multiplier on the left hand side is increasing
before new birds comes flying in trying to build
a new winning combination. The base game
multiplier starts at x1, and increases to x2, x3
and x5 for the following consecutive wins.
There's also a free spin feature on this slot
machine, and it's triggered by collecting 3 or
more cardboard boxes on the power line. This is
also one of just a few slot machines from
Thunderkick that have the Inwinity Spin feature
I've explained over at the
Barber Shop description. It's a feature that
at the end of the free spins lets you continue
to spin until you get one last win.
Free spins: The free spins on Birds on
a Wire are really exciting. They are triggered
in the base game by getting 3 or more cardboard
boxes and rewards you 10 free spins for 3 boxes.
For each additional box you get, you win 2 extra
free spins. So you could potentially get 30 free
spins by filling the whole screen with boxes.
The in game win multiplier is increased in the
free spins and instead of showing x1, x2, x3 and
x5 it shows x4, x8, x12 and x20. That means that
you could multiply your lines wins by up to 20
times the win value for the winning symbol. It's
not possible to re-trigger the free spins, and
all free spin rounds ends of with an Inwinity
Spin that guarantees you one last win before the
round is over.
